    • From the Ferdinand News, May 19, 1933: "Mrs. John Leinenbach - At the age of 76 years, Mrs. John Leinenbach (nee Margaret Milton) passed away at her home in Ferdinand Sunday night at twelve o'clock after a lingering ilness. Deceased was married twice, her first husband, Joe Batch, preceed her in death about fifteen years ago. She is survived by her husband and the following step-children: Nick Leinenbach of Kyana, Herman and Anton Leinenbach and Mrs. August Schlachter of Evansville, Mrs. Charles Brittan of Riverside, Cal., John and Ben Leinenbach of Ireland, Edgar Leinenbach of Milwaukee, Wis., Joe Leinenbach and Mrs. Cornelius Altmann of Ferdinand. Interment took place in the St. Ferdinand cemetery Wednesday morning at nine o'clock."

    • From the Ferdinand News, June 29, 1923: "Cupid Makes No Exceptions To Age - John Leinenbach of this place and Mary Margaret Betz (sic) of Huntingburg, were married in the St. Ferdinand church yesterday morning at seven o'clock. The attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Philip Horny and the following were flower girls: Mona Leinenbach, Stella Zink, Hilda Bartley and Margaret Schilling. This is the second venture on the sea of matrimony for both. They will reside in Ferdinand."
